OnePlus has announced a significant partnership with Reliance-owned JioMart Digital in India, aimed at expanding its retail presence across the country. This collaboration will make OnePlus products available in over 2,000 cities and towns, a substantial increase from its current reach.
The announcement comes weeks after several retail chains threatened to discontinue sales of OnePlus products due to unresolved issues regarding profit margins, delays in claim processing, and other concerns. The All India Mobile Retailers Association (AIMRA) and South Indian Organized Retailers Association (ORA) had announced a ban on selling OnePlus products from May 1, citing these issues.
Through this partnership, OnePlus products will be available across JioMart Digital’s distribution network of over 63,000 retail stores. Additionally, OnePlus devices can be purchased online through the JioMart store. This expansion will enable OnePlus to reach tier 3 and tier 4 cities, increasing its presence in the Indian market.
“We are positive that our community and consumers at large will continue to truly benefit from this opportunity by being able to easily access and gain a personalized experience of our OnePlus devices at their nearest retail outlets,” said Ranjeet Singh, Director of Sales at OnePlus.
OnePlus has reportedly confirmed that it is working with retail partners to address the highlighted issues, including delays in warranty claim processing and low profit margins.
This expansion is likely to benefit the newly launched OnePlus Nord CE 4, which is currently available for sale with a starting price tag of Rs. 24,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant.
