Google Pixel‘s June 2024 Feature Drop introduces a range of enhancements for Pixel phones, watches, and tablets, improving user experience with new AI capabilities, camera upgrades, and safety features.

Google Pixel Phones

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8a now support Gemini Nano AI. This developer option enhances on-device AI functions, such as the Summarize feature in the Recorder app, which now includes speaker identification and the ability to export transcripts to text files or Google Docs. Additionally, these phones now offer Display Port Support, allowing them to connect to external displays via USB-C, making it easier to share content on larger screens.

A new Reverse Phone Number Lookup feature helps users identify unknown callers by leveraging Google Search. The camera has also received a significant upgrade with improved HDR+ functionality, which automatically selects the best moment from a photo to ensure perfect shots. Users can now manually select camera lenses on the Pixel 6 Pro, 7 Pro, 8 Pro, and Pixel Fold, providing more control over their photography.

Google Pixel Watches

For the Pixel Watch 2, the update includes Car Crash Detection, which automatically contacts emergency services in the event of a crash, unless canceled by the user. Improved Fall Detection is also part of the update, enhancing safety for users. Moreover, users can now link their PayPal accounts to Google Wallet for easier transactions. The Google Home app has been revamped for faster access to smart home controls.

Google Pixel Tablets

Pixel Tablets benefit from new Doorbell Notifications when docked in Hub Mode. This feature displays snapshots of visitors when the doorbell rings, enhancing home security. Additionally, the Google Home Favorites Widget has been introduced, providing quick access to smart home devices directly from the home screen.

These updates reflect Google’s commitment to enhancing the functionality, security, and user experience across their device lineup, integrating advanced AI and practical features into the Pixel ecosystem.
