HONOR has officially confirmed the release dates for its upcoming HONOR Magic7 series and MagicOS 9.0. The company will launch its latest Android-based software, MagicOS 9.0, on October 23, followed by the debut of the Magic7 smartphone lineup on October 30.
Staggered Launch
The two separate launch dates indicate a strategic focus on both software and hardware. MagicOS 9.0, which is built on Android 15, will be revealed a week before the Magic7 series. This approach allows HONOR to highlight the new features and improvements in its software before introducing the devices themselves.
China-First Launch
These announcements pertain to the China market. As with previous HONOR releases, the Magic7 series will launch domestically before becoming available globally. This aligns with the strategy followed by many major Chinese smartphone manufacturers, including Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Vivo.
AI-Centric Launch Event
HONOR has labeled its upcoming events with the tagline, “Witness the magic of AI”, signaling an emphasis on artificial intelligence. While details remain limited, HONOR’s focus on AI is expected to extend into MagicOS 9.0 as well, building upon the AI-driven features introduced in MagicOS 8.0.
New AI Agent Feature Expected
One feature confirmed for the Magic7 series is the AI Agent, which will act as a personal assistant, designed to streamline daily tasks. The Magic7 lineup is expected to include two models: the HONOR Magic7 and the HONOR Magic7 Pro. While specifics on the devices remain scarce, reports suggest the Pro variant may feature a pill-shaped front camera cutout.
