Valve has finally lifted the veil on their highly anticipated MOBA shooter, Deadlock—a game that has been the subject of much speculation and excitement throughout the summer. Despite thousands of players reportedly getting their hands on the game and leaks of gameplay footage surfacing, Valve remained conspicuously silent, fueling even more curiosity.

However, the wait is over. Valve has now officially confirmed the existence of Deadlock with the release of an official Steam page. According to the page, the game is “in early development” and is currently being tested by a select group of playtesters. While the announcement is a significant step, details remain scarce.

For those eager to dive into the world of Deadlock, there’s a catch—it’s still only accessible via invitation. The Steam page lacks any mention of a release date or even a tentative release window, leaving fans in the dark about when they can expect to play. Additionally, the 22-second teaser provided on the page offers little insight into what the game entails, leaving much to the imagination.

The speculation surrounding Deadlock is not unfounded. Back in May, Tyler McVicker, a well-known YouTuber who has long followed and reported on Valve’s projects, described Deadlock as a game poised to become Valve’s next major competitive title—possibly even the successor to legendary games like Counter-Strike and Dota. His commentary has only heightened the anticipation, with many now waiting to see if Deadlock will indeed reach the heights of Valve’s previous successes.

As Valve finally acknowledges Deadlock’s existence, the gaming community is left to speculate what the future holds for this in-development MOBA shooter. With the company’s history of groundbreaking titles, expectations are undeniably high.
